Storm season: May to August
Storm hit? Here is what to do first
Stay safe, stop the water and document everything. We tarp open roofs, usually the same day, and inspect for free.

Six warning signs to check from the ground
Never climb onto a wet or damaged roof. These checks are safe from the yard, a window or the attic.
Dented gutters, vents or downspouts
Soft metal records hail size. Round dents mean shingles took hits too.
Granules piling at downspouts
Dark sand after a storm means shingle protection has been knocked loose.
Missing, lifted or creased shingles
Chinook and thunderstorm winds break the seal strip and fold tabs back.
New ceiling stains or damp attic insulation
Check the attic with a flashlight on a dry day after the storm.
Spatter marks on siding, decks and fences
Fresh clean circles on painted surfaces show where hail struck.
Torn screens or cracked skylights
If hail broke these, it was big enough to bruise your roof.

Emergency tarping
When shingles are torn off or a tree limb punctures the deck, a properly secured tarp keeps water out until repairs are scheduled. We use heavy-duty tarps fastened with wood battens, never loose sandbags that blow off in the next gust.

- Tarp cost often covered by claims (check your policy)
- Credited toward repairs if we do the work (sample)
Storm questions
Straight answers on price, payments, storms and what install day looks like. Still wondering about something?
Many policies ask you to report damage promptly, and Colorado law generally allows up to two years from the storm for property claims. Check your own policy; this is sample information, not legal advice.
Hail is usually treated as a weather event rather than an at-fault claim, but insurers vary. Ask your agent before filing if you are unsure.
No. Colorado law prohibits contractors from waiving, rebating or covering an insurance deductible. We can offer monthly payment options instead (sample).
